As you’re busy scraping the leftovers from your Christmas dinner you might have noticed that your tree is starting to seriously loose its spines.
You can’t dump it on the pavement (or you’ll risk a hefty fine) and you don’t like the idea of throwing the epicentre of your celebrations into the bin.
Fortunately, as of the 26th December 150 recycling centres have popped-up around Paris, specifically for collecting old Christmas trees.
As long as you make sure that you’ve taken off all the decorations, you can take it to the centre nearest to you where it will be ground up on the spot. Your shredded Christmas tree will then be spread across Paris’ parks and gardens to insulate the soil from the cold weather to come.
The centres will be open until the 24th January, and many of them operate 24 hours a day.
You can find the nearest point on the map below, and if you can’t carry your tree just leave it out with the green containers on bin day and it will be taken there for you.
